Mark Faulkner - Head of Innovation

Member:
executive and board member

In 1994, Mark spotted a gap supporting securities financing activities and providing customers with independent specialist advice and services. So, in the basement of a 17th Century house in London, Mark founded the company that became Data Explorers.

Mark has authored many papers and books on the subject of securities finance including An Introduction to Securities Lending and has represented the industry at the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Bank of England. He is a frequent speaker and moderator at industry conferences and often appears in the media - both broadcast and print. His independent perspective enables him to both ask and answer some of the more difficult and controversial questions at these events. Mark is recognised as an industry leader and was recently presented with the Global Investor/ISF Lifetime Achievement in recognition of his contribution to securities financing over the last 25 years. He is also a member of the Global Custodian Hall of Fame.

Prior to founding Data Explorers, Mark graduated from the London School of Economics and held management roles at LM Moneybrokers, Goldman Sachs and Lehman Brothers.

In his current role as Head of Innovation at Data Explorers, Mark is always open to new ideas and keen to develop and deliver them.
