UniCredit Gains as Stock Slide Prompts Analysts to Raise Ratings
About 157 million shares, or 8.1 percent of UniCredit’s ordinary shares, have been lent out, according to Data Explorers, a research firm in London. The pool available to be borrowed from institutional investors has shrunk to 163 million shares from more than 500 million shares at the start of 2011, making it harder for firms to short the stock, the data show.
