Scandinavian Themes - Securities Finance Daily Report - 10 August 2010

As the US earnings season tails off attention turns to European companies and we have decided to take a tour of northern Europe in the hunt for some investor trends. There are some interesting themes in Scandinavian markets not least the short selling across Norway’s offshore drilling firms (BON/DETNOR/DOF) with investors perhaps expecting some damaging new regulations in light of the Gulf Coast offshore spill. Danish listed high end clothing (IC) and sounds system makers (BO) are also seeing strong and recent negative sentiment.
