Stock of the day: Molycorp, Inc (NYSE: MCP)

Rare earth miner, Molycorp, Inc (NYSE:MCP) is due to report first quarter earnings on Tuesday. The CEO, Mark Smith, has said that the company is “looking at a number of opportunities” for acqusitions, reported Barron’s. The company boasts a market cap USD 3.7bn on annual turnover of only USD 35m, driven by eye watering growth expectations, as we reported earlier. Short interest has halved to 4% of total shares outstanding on loan since February, in which time the share price has doubled. However, 40% of inventory available to lend is still currently out on loan.
